Inspired by Game of Thrones, whose costumes drew direct inspiration from Alexander McQueen (see his coiled corsets from fall/winter 1999 and Cersei Lannister’s dress for the season seven finale), this month we are exploring fashion’s long-lasting relationship with the lens.
In recent years, improvements to film and photography have allowed fashion in all its complexities, performative abilities, and sensorial experiences to be presented to a greater audience. As fashion reaches a more global consumer base, representation in fashion simultaneously becomes more diverse.
