Abstract

In an effort to reduce the amount of post-consumer textile waste being sent to landfill, fashion brand companies have implemented retail take-back programs (clothing collection and recycling programs). For example, fast fashion specialty store brand, UNIQLO, implemented a program called UNIQLO All Product Recycling Initiative. Students are asked to evaluate UNIQLO’s program in comparison with programs of other fashion brands and recommend strategies for UNIQLO to revamp their program that results in greater impact for reducing the amount of post-consumer textile waste being sent to landfill.
