Alexander McQueen

British fashion designer and couturier Alexander McQueen was famous for causing controversy on the catwalk. Themes of sex, death, and commerce were often intertwined in his designs. He was head designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001, earning the title "enfant terrible" by the French media. His famous "Bumster" pants were one of the most provocative designs of the 1990s. Key collections included in the Archive: Highland Rape (FW 1995), Untitled (SS 1998) more commonly known as "The Rain" or  "Golden Shower" and No. 13 (SS 1999)
